Methodology
CARE Ethiopia, together with its implementing partners REST and SNV, conducted a rapid assessment of cash, markets, and gender in Eastern Tigray from 8-13 March 2021. The team2, composed of staff from the Livelihoods for Resilience Activity and CARE’s Emergency Unit, collected field data from three Livelihoods for Resilience implementation woredas: Hawzen, Ganta Afeshum, and Gulomekeda woredas.
Subject/Objective
• To understand the feasibility of cash-based interventions to support livelihoods and economic recovery under the Livelihoods for Resilience Activity, including assessing the functionality of primary and secondary markets accessed by the conflict affected population and the functionality of financial service providers
• To assess the impact of the conflict on women, girls, and female youth, in order to better guide project interventions
